Beverley Travel at Flemingate has been crowned the UK & Ireland’s No.1 Travel Agency at a glittering Travel Trade Gazette (TTG) Top 50 Travel Agencies awards ceremony in Birmingham.
Beverley Travel received high praise for its “combination of expertise, concierge-style customer service and endless drive and creativity”, which judges said made it “a real force to be reckoned with”.

Though launched only three years ago, the store was described as “a travel agency getting everything right, from the in-store experience, to offering staff personal development training, to giving back to the local community”.
Accepting the award, Karl Douglas and Kelly Cheesman, Co-owners & Directors, paid tribute to their team, fellow agents in the room and the wider industry.
“We all did this is, every person in this group did this. And to be stood here having opened our shop less than three years ago and done what we’ve done is just unbelievable and we’re so so grateful,” Kelly said.
They first won Best Travel Agency in Yorkshire, which then shortlisted them for the overall category, beating long established agencies in both categories.

Beverley Travel first opened at Flemingate in January 2020, before merging their business with Kelly Cheesmans’ Sassy Explorer and reopening after the first lockdown in their current store.
They aim to make the research, booking and pre-travel preparations as easy and enjoyable as the holiday itself. They are fully Independent, meaning they offer the right travel for our clients, being Jet2holidays’ top agent in the local area and offer wide range of specialist and tailor-made travel and cruise.
The team at Beverley Travel work tirelessly to ensure everything goes to plan and on the odd occasion things don’t, then they are there to support and put things right. Frequently achieving the highest ratings on both Google and Facebook, they are delighted that their clients recognise the team for this.

Karl Douglas said that they are delighted with the win “it’s a team effort and us, our amazing team, suppliers work together to deliver an amazing experience for our clients”.
Their future plans include launching their Travel Partners division, so that people can become self-employed Travel Agents and learn from them, having both started the same way just over 5 years ago. More branches are a possibility, as well as launching an online booking service for simpler travel elements.
