Beverley’s Flemingate centre is hosting an exciting array of events and activities for all the family during next week’s half-term break.

A funfair with children’s rides and fairground attractions will be at the centre from Tuesday, October 25, to Saturday, October 29, including a mini Ferris wheel, inflatable play slide and a bungee trampoline.

Frozen’s friendly snowman, Olaf, and the plucky pups from TV’s cartoon series, PAW Patrol, will be at the funfair each day at 1pm-1.30pm and 3pm-3.30pm, ready to pose for photographs and to hand out discount vouchers to shoppers and visitors.

Leading toy store, The Entertainer, is holding a series of events including a Star Wars fun day on Saturday, October 22; a Make and Take Lego day on Monday, October 24; and a K’NEX building day on Wednesday, October 26.

If spooky fun is what you’re after, Hull Carnival Arts is holding drop-in lantern-making workshops from Wednesday to Saturday at 1pm-3pm, culminating in a haunting Halloween Parade at 4.30pm on Saturday, October 29, supported by community street band, Bandanarama, performing their unique mash-up of disco hits, New Orleans funeral music, Indie classics and Cockney “um-pa” tunes.

Artisan sandwich and coffee shop Deli No.1 is offering Spooky Pie and Peas on Saturday, October 29, and authentic European restaurant, Riva Lounge and Café Bar, is hosting a Family Halloween Party at 6.30pm, also on Saturday.

Graham Tait, Flemingate Centre Manager, said: “We’re well and truly in Autumn now with colder days and darker evenings, so the events we’re putting on at Flemingate will keep the family entertained and lift people’s spirits during the half-term break.

“It’s a busy time coming up with lots of events and activities going on and it’s wonderful that all the retailers here are getting involved in the run up to Christmas.”

Visiting Flemingate could not be easier, with a 500-space car park on site offering three hours parking for just £1 and Beverley Railway Station just a couple of minutes’ walk away.

The £120m Flemingate development is Beverley’s largest ever regeneration scheme and has had a hugely beneficial impact. In addition to many leading national retailers that could not previously be accommodated in Beverley, Flemingate has brought much-needed new facilities to the town, including a 70,000 sq ft college campus, 80-bed Premier Inn, six-screen independent cinema and 130 new homes.
