Tomahawk Steakhouse owner Howard Eggleston said: “Beverley was always high on our list as a new location for Tomahawk, so the team were thrilled when we were offered the opportunity to open at Flemingate.

“It fell into the mix exactly at the time when we were developing our expansion plans for 2020 and the way it has come together has been great.

“We’re delighted to have such a fantastic position location-wise, with amazing views of Beverley Minster from the front, and Flemingate’s on-site car park makes it easy to visit us any time of the day.

“We’ve had an unbelievable response on Facebook with over 4,400 followers and plenty of reservations before we even opened, especially for Mother’s Day.”

Tomahawk has seven restaurants in North Yorkshire and the North East, including in Newcastle and Darlington, with plans to open additional Yorkshire venues in York and Harrogate and another in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

The new Beverley restaurant opened on Monday, March 16, and has created 25 jobs. The independently-owned steakhouse has 100 covers, as well as additional seating for 40 diners in the restaurant’s outdoor area.

Fish and seafood options include miso-glazed cod; salt and pepper squid; seabass fillets; and North Sea lobster.

Sunday lunches consist of roast beef Wagyu topside; belly pork with crispy crackling; and garlic and herb marinated chicken; accompanied by the usual trimmings.

Vegetarian and vegan dishes include roast vegetable satay; beer battered broccoli; haloumi and mushroom burger, to name just a few, as well as gluten-free options.

An early bird menu offering a “Taste of Tomahawk”, with two courses for £13.95 and three courses for £15.95, is available Monday to Thursday, 4pm- 6.30pm, and on Fridays, from 4pm-5.30pm. This offer excludes Bank Holidays.

Mr Eggleston said: “The opening at Beverley comes just as we launch our new menu.

“We have a brand new and hugely exciting partnership with master butcher Tom Hixson, of Smithfield in London, and, for the first time on our menu, we are delivering a delicious cut of Tom Hixson’s butchered Hereford Beef that we hope will delight our new guests.”
