Get ready for a night of festive entertainment as Flemingate in Beverley unveils its plans for their Christmas Light Switch-On event, taking place on Friday, November 17th, starting at 5 p.m. This year’s celebration is packed with exciting entertainment, a Nordic tipi bar, and a breathtaking fireworks display.
The evening’s grand finale will feature a show-stopping performance by the sensational Nadine Coyle, renowned for her role in the iconic girl group, Girls Aloud. Celebrating their 20th anniversary, Girls Aloud earned their place in the UK music history with an impressive record of twenty-one UK Top Ten singles, including four chart-topping hits. The evening will see Nadine perform some of their greatest hits.
The evening, hosted by Adam Smith, has something for everyone with a top performance from the official UK number one Taylor Swift tribute artist, Katy Ellis, who is sure to have everyone singing along to her chart-toppers. The stage will also come alive with Christmas classics by the All for One Choir and Linkage College Choir. The cast of Talegate Theatre’s “Pinocchio,” performing at the Parkway Cinema theatre stage over the festive season, will add a touch of theatrical magic.
Flemingate is proud to showcase local talent, including the gifted singer songwriter, Albert Stott, and the electrifying band Room 64, winners of the East Riding Schools’ Music Service ‘Battle of the Bands 2023’ from Longcroft School in Beverley. The event will also introduce the winner of the Flemingate Future Star 2023, following in the footsteps of last year’s champion, Olivia Tworek, who will grace the stage once again.
Jo Bridgeman, Marketing and Events Manager for Flemingate, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be welcoming families and residents to Flemingate to enjoy a brilliant night of entertainment and festivities and, of course, the light switch-on to mark the start of Christmas at Flemingate.”
“There will be a fabulous firework display at 6.45pm, which will be followed at 7pm by headline act, Nadine Coyle – a great way to mark the countdown to Christmas”.
In addition to the fantastic entertainment, Flemingate will see the return of the festive Nordic ‘Christmas Tipi Flemingate’ complete with a cozy fire pit, enchanting lighting, and comfortable seating. Many shops will remain open for late-night shopping, and visitors can indulge in a variety of food and drink and children can enjoy small funfair rides.
The Flemingate Christmas event will run from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., with the much-anticipated light switch-on scheduled for 6:45 p.m., immediately followed by a seven-minute firework display set to music and the headline act.
