Even the rain failed to dampen the spirits of almost 40 fleet-footed runners who took part in Flemingate’s Olympic-themed Beverley Bolt over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Youngsters between the ages of six and 15 raced over different distances aiming to break the fastest time in the Usain Bolt-inspired event.
The event was such a success that Flemingate now plans to repeat it annually.
Independent jeweller, Guest and Philips, supplied the victory medals to the fastest runners.
