Regeneration company Wykeland Group today (August 22) announced leading retail brands Outfit and Superdrug are to open at its Flemingate centre.

Fashion destination retailer Outfit will create 40 jobs when it opens its doors at the retail and leisure development in Beverley on Saturday, October 8.

Health and beauty retailer Superdrug is also to open at Flemingate. The new 4,000 sq ft store will be in addition to Superdrug’s other location in Toll Gavel, Beverley, and will stock brands such as Makeup Revolution, B., and L’Oreal.

Outfit’s 13,300 sq ft will stock leading high street womenswear and menswear names from across fashion giant Arcadia’s portfolio of brands, including Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Wallis, and Burton.  The new concept store will feature a purpose-built footwear space, a personal shopping service and a Topshop nail bar. The store, which is part of the brand’s expansion within Yorkshire, is Outfit’s 76th nationwide.

The two new brands follow the recent additions of Baytree Interiors, Peacocks and River Island, which opened last week. In total, the five brands make up 40,000 sq ft of new retail lettings at Flemingate in the past two months.

David Donkin, Property Director of Hull-based Wykeland Group, owner and developer of Flemingate, said: “Superdrug’s decision to expand its regional presence with a store at Flemingate demonstrates the status the centre has quickly achieved as a vital retail destination in East Yorkshire and the Humber.

“Outfit will further enhance our line-up, adding a host of great brands under one roof.  With the recent openings of Peacocks and River Island, Flemingate’s fashion offer continues to grow in strength, variety and appeal.”

Ian Jones, Retail Operations Director at Outfit, added: “We are proud to add our new multi-brand concept store at Flemingate to our growing portfolio.  As well as creating 40 jobs in the area, we can also now give customers an even wider choice of brands within the unique out-of-town experience that Outfit offers.”

The £120m Flemingate development – Beverley’s largest-ever regeneration scheme – includes big-name brands such as Debenhams and H&M and is also home to the East Riding College campus, an 80-bed Premier Inn hotel and six-screen digital cinema, Parkway.

Recent openings at Flemingate include Riva Lounge, Baytree Interiors, Peacocks and Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK).  Leading UK retailer River Island is the latest big-name brand to open, welcoming shoppers for the first time last week.
