A host of local and regional producers have signed up for a new monthly food event at Beverleyโ€™s Flemingate centre, with the first taking place this Sunday.

The indoor and outdoor food event will take place on the second Sunday of every month and will offer locally-produced food and drink from an exciting range of independent traders.

Almost 20 traders have signed up for Sundayโ€™s food fair, including Beverley-based White Rabbit Chocolatiers; Driffieldโ€™s Colemanโ€™s Cider; Hull-based beekeepers BeeLoved Honey; Market Weightonโ€™s The Little Square Cake Company; and Arnoldโ€™s Oyster Bar from Bridlington.

If youโ€™re eating on the go, try some chicken salsa from local outside caterer, Two Chefs, or a homemade ice-cream from Beverley-based gelateria, Poma. Or if you fancy an exotic cuppa, give Swanland-based Leaves of the World a try with its range of organic loose leaf teas from around the world.

Graham Tait, Flemingate Centre Manager, said: โ€œIโ€™m really looking forward to our first monthly food event this Sunday. ย We have a great range of independent traders from around East Yorkshire giving shoppers more variety and access to locally-produced food.

โ€œOur monthly event will complement Beverleyโ€™s existing Saturday and Wednesday markets and give visitors even more variety and access to locally-produced food.

โ€œHosting regular events such as this illustrates our desire to make Flemingate available for activities that benefit the community and enhance the reputation of Beverley as a great place to visit.โ€ ย

Organised by The Market Managers, a York-based organisation responsible for successful markets in the North Yorkshire towns of Malton, Scarborough and Acomb, the monthly food event will offer high-quality produce at competitive prices and will be open from 10am to 4pm.

The food event is in addition to Flemingateโ€™s monthly Craft and Artisan Fair, which runs on the first Saturday of every month.
